A deeper connection with your target audience.

By definition an eBook is simply an electronic version of a printed book.  But eBooks have morphed into something different in the B2B Software space.  The most effective eBooks are simple to read, showcase original thought leadership, and can be easily viewed on a mobile device.  Less is more, but it’s not always easy to distill content down to the lowest common denominator.

Demand ROI supports the production of four types of eBooks:

A Concept Point of View: Showcase an emerging or ill-defined concept in your market and help educate a specific target audience (and in the process make your brand a trusted advisor to buyers).  These are also commonly delivered as “guides.”

Industry / Market Trends: Showcase challenges and opportunities and offer practical advice for how readers can overcome challenges and capitalize on opportunities.  Generally this is in the form of a fact-filled asset that aggregates findings from reputable sources (analyst firms, new, consultants, etc.) and builds a strong story that change is necessary and urgent.

Branded Survey Findings Report: If your brand recently ran a customer survey we can use your data to help you showcase unique differences between your customers and the broader market.  Many times there’s a litany of useful internal data that never sees the light of day.  We can help you get the most out of available data.

Hosted Survey Findings Report: Showcase a findings report on a custom survey hosted and promoted by Demand ROI. (See Custom Research Services)

FAQs

Do I need data to publish an eBook?

Yes. While it is very common to see eBooks without facts or statistics they generally aren’t very valuable.  But, we can do a lot of the heavy lifting around data collection if you are thinking about a point of view style eBook.

Alternatively:

  • We can explore survey data you collected recently (within the last 12 months) from customers or a survey hosted by your brand.
  • We can host a survey and capture data for the report.
  • We can explore aggregated data on your customer usage trends.

Original data in an eBook generally has a shelf-life of 12-18 months which means the asset pays dividends for a longer period of time than a typical whitepaper. The data offers credibility and validation that the trends we are covering are worth the readers attention and time.

What is the process for starting a project?

Getting started is easy.  Usually, we would chat for 15-40 minutes to understand your objectives. Sometimes it makes sense for us to also collaborate with members of your team such as senior leaders, sales reps, product marketing, or IT.

Here’s the process:

  • Discovery interviews.
  • Research – send us reports or survey data you would like to include in the asset.
  • Creative Brief creation – we deliver a 1-2pg outline for sign-off before writing starts.
  • We’re heads down writing.
  • You receive a DRAFT for review and iteration.
  • We finalize and you’re done.

We try to make the whole process as painless as possible because you have more important things to do than manage writers.  When you work with us there’s no hand-holding, lengthy investments in education, or re-work for you.

Do I need to come up with a topic?

No. If you have ideas or a specific topic to write about that’s awesome.  We are very skilled at identifying topics that will drive the most engagement with your target audience.  We conduct pre-writing research to understand how the topic has been covered in the past and to make sure everything we produce is unique and valuable.

If you are considering a concept point of view or guide style eBook, you would have to provide any market research content you want to include in the asset (and make sure your brand has permission with the source to quote the content in reports.)

How long does it usually take to complete a project?

In most cases a realistic timeframe is 6-8 weeks from kickoff to production ready asset.  It really depends on the quality of available data or market research. If we need to host and promote a survey this usually extends a project by 3-4 weeks.

What are the final deliverables?

We offer professional ghostwriting services; all frameworks, graphics, copy, and content are yours to use or re-use as you see fit.

We deliver a production ready PDF of your eBook with custom layouts and creative.  We can mimic branded collateral or come up with an original layout using your brand compliant logos, color scheme, and image style.

We also provide the raw InDesign files and any creative assets we use.

How much does a typical project cost?

We price competitively on a project-by-project basis. If you are looking for the lowest priced writing resource, we probably aren’t a great fit – you get what you pay for. That’s also why we offer a money back guarantee if, for some reason, you aren’t happy with the quality of the work.

We invoice 50% up front after a signed SOW and 50% after final delivery.  But we are very flexible with payment terms – many of our clients commit last minute unused funds to content creation or need to spread payments across multiple quarters.

Request a quote and let’s talk about what you want to accomplish. We’ll show you why we are the best option for translating investments in content marketing into pipeline opportunity.  You should demand results. You should DemandROI.
